More about Obstino and UHO Global app

Hello!

My name is Blaž Kovačič, and I hold a M.Sc. in computer science.
I’m the founder and president of Obstino – Assistive Techonology Development Association, which is dedicated to helping people with special needs using technological solutions.

I’m also the author of application UHO Global. Initially I started developing the Slovenian version of the application in september 2024 as a part of the master’s thesis titled “Slovenian speech recognition in an application for people with hearing impairment” (https://dk.um.si/IzpisGradiva.php?lang=slv&id=93585). Under mentorship of prof. dr. Borko Bošković and prof. dr. Janez Brest, I graduated in july 2025.
By recognizing the lack and need for accessible software solutions for the population of deaf and hard of hearing, I continued development of the Slovenian variant of the application, and later also the UHO Global variant.

As part of Obstino association, I also develop other applications and technological solutions for persons with special needs (e.g. application Face Control for people with mobility impairments).
On projects of Obstino association I work in my free available time, with financial resources exclusively from donations.
